I SAW A BEAR!

I SAW A BEAR! and this time someone else saw him to! I yelled for Dave - - which by the way made the bear curious and started walking toward me- and he saw the bear too, even closer since I had 'called' him in. :-) But no picture since I had to choose between getting Dave and getting a camara. Oh and I was just at the end of our driveway not even out on the road yet.

Water! Now We'll be glad when it rains!

The first rain barrel is in place at the lodge. The water will be put to all sorts of use-not drinking of course! Hopefully this is just the first of several that are put into service this summer. The next things we need are Solar Panels!

Everybody helps

Everyone helps to get the new gutter on that will catch the rain water and funnel it into a rain barrel

Just kinda funny

I just thought this was amusing-It's the last new wall to go up in the new addition.

A new point of view

The new windows in the new addition opens up a view we haven't had before.

Raising the second wall

Raising this wall was a bit tougher- they hadn lift it diagonally so they could clear the window.

Clayton helps too!

Clayton was holding up his end and working too.

Haulin' wood

Joel and Joseph carrying the painted plywood - It's heavy.

Paint paint and carry

The guys had to paint all of these-I think it was 8- sheets of 3/4 in. plywood. I don't think they knew they were also gonna get to carry it the next day after the second coat of paint! But they were such good spirited workers.

Flower lined paths through the woods!

The trails that we made opened up some of the woods to more sunlight and the trilium - the little white flowers you see- have taken advantage of it and now line all the trails! It was quite the unexpected site when we got here. The effect is beautiful in person!

Hammering the wall together

it took a lot of nailing to make the wall. And it was MUCH noisier than it sounds here.

Teamwork!

Everybody helping to raise the wall! The guys all helped build the wall and it took all of them to lift it into place.

Painting the loo

The guys all painting the inside of the loo - It's really hard to get their faces when they're painting a wall!

This is why It's called BearClaw Lodge

Just arrived for a work weekend and went to walk into the cabin. And this is one of several bear prints right in front of the lodge. He walked right around the cabin. We will be making so much noise that he won't be back for awhile.
